Ellie Jane Goulding is a British woman born on December 30, 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers is her mother. Her father Arthur Goulding comes from a funeral home-based family. Goulding is the second of three children and has a brother named Alex an older sister named Isabel as well as a sister known as Jordan. Alex his brother is a bassist and is a member of a Hereford group. When she was a young girl, her mother was encouraging her to get into the instrument. She began learning to play the clarinet at nine. She started writing her own songs at the age of 14 but it wasn't until after she went off to college that she really pursued songwriting. Goulding began to develop an interest in electronics music as she was completing her education. She met Frankmusik an artist and record producer through MySpace.
